Why Soda Blasting Cleans Pool Tile Surfaces The Environmentally Friendly Way
If this pool below looks like your backyard pool, the alternative to harsh chemical cleaning is Soda blasting. Calcium build up on pool tile, around the waterline tarnishes the overall beauty of a pool. Part of normal pool maintenance and repair is cleaning calcium buildups.
The Pools Scrubbers invested in environmentally friendly soda blasting equipment that helps us answer the question that we get asked all the time…“Can you help me clean that white scale line or those calcium chunks off my tile and stone?” The answer is YES!
You can go to the pool supply stores and they will try and sell you all kinds of liquid chemicals to treat that scale or build up on your tile. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! You will soon realize they are nothing but jugs full of empty promises. IF we could just dump something into your pool and collect our money we would not need our service techs and our trailer full all of this expensive equipment!
We have found that the only way to get the result you are looking for (which is usually as “clean as new”) is to soda blast all of your tile.
SODA BLASTING is a process uses that uses BAKING SODA (contained in a special hopper) as a media blasted out of a special pressure washer nozzle at 4000 PSI. (Most gas pressure washers are 2500 PSI). The combination of these two pieces of equipment helps us get rid of those nasty stains without damaging the tile.

Cost: $10 per linear foot plus tax (so usually between $500-$1200 per pool with a $500 minimum charge). Considering new accent tile would cost $2000-$5000 soda blasting is a great way to give your pool an amazing face lift!
Will it work on your pool?? We have completed enough soda blasting projects that our staff can tell you during our estimate what the results will be. In most cases, we can make it look as good as new. We have found that we can successfully remove 95-98% of calcium stains and your pool will be much improved from what it was.
NOTE: We will vacuum the sediment and calcium from your pool when we finish, and that will get 80-90% of the material.. however..you will need to vacuum your pool the day after as the fine material often settles to the bottom the next day. If you don’t have time to vacuum your pool, we can take care of that for you. Just let our staff know that want us to come back the day after too vacuum your pool. There is an additional trip charge of $150.00.
